As the summer goes on, we’re thinking of fun ways where you can enjoy each moment, all within your new construction home. Here are some ways you can get the most out of the season:
1. Spend more time in your patio space
There’s no better way to enjoy the warm fresh air than to lounge on the patio during your downtime. MN’s patios were built with a dual purpose; covered enough for the winter, but open enough for summer chilling. Entertain your guests or opt for dinner outside; there are many ways you can use this space.
2. Master the art of grilling
Whether your home has a built-in grill or a BBQ hookup, there are possibilities for perfecting your grill game. Gather your family and friends for a summer dinner tradition.
3. Utilize your lawn
There are many ways you can utilize your lawn in the summer; it’s a great time to step out onto the grass and find creative ways to get that much-needed vitamin D. Use the space for yard games like Corn Hole or Croquet, set up an inflatable pool for those extra hot days, or even get your green thumb by starting a garden and harvesting your own fruits & veggies. The options are endless.
4. Swap out your décor
An easy way to update your space is changing out the décor for the summer. Here are some tips from one of our Senior Interior Designers: Treat your backyard as an extension of your home! Seattle is known for the most beautiful summers, so take advantage by decorating with durable pieces that look as beautiful inside as they do outside. A rug is a must- it will ground your outdoor furniture creating an additional “room” to your home. This one from The Citizenry is gorgeous and made from recycled plastic bottles in a fair-trade workshop. Another item I love is this indoor/outdoor throw from McGee & Co., which is soft and has a playful neutral print that will cozy up your patio. Plus- it’s machine washable, making care a breeze. Layer with outdoor pillows for comfort, add some pretty lanterns from Pottery Barn and a tray of these seagrass tumblers and pitcher from Food52 filled with cucumber, lemon, and mint-infused water. Your oasis is complete.
No matter how you decide to spend your time in the summer, there are many ways you can get the most out of it in your new construction home. Still looking for your next home?
